BEIRUT — The United States donated 13 Humvee military vehicles, 11 other vehicles and military equipment to the Lebanese Army as part of a US military aid program amid Lebanon's economic and financial crisis.
In a statement issued Monday, the army said it received the donations at the port of Beirut.
Washington regularly provides equipment to the Lebanese military. Last August, the US offered the army 150 Humvee military vehicles.
In September, the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Joanna Wronecka stressed that a financial assistance plan to support the salaries of Lebanese troops was in "its final organizational phase."
