Civil Defense brings plastics factory fire under control

BEIRUT — The Civil Defense with the help of volunteers succeeded in controlling a fire that broke out Tuesday morning in a plastics factory in Minyeh, North Lebanon, our correspondent in the North reported.

Here’s what we know:

    • According to our correspondent, the fire left the factory completely destroyed and caused “big material losses.” No injuries were reported as the factory was empty when the fire broke out early this morning.

    • Black fumes emanating from the fire filled the area, forcing residents to close all windows and doors and leave the surrounding buildings. Meanwhile, the factory owners are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
