BEIRUT — Unidentified persons opened fire Monday on the facades of several businesses in Wadi Jammous in the North Lebanon region of Akkar, our correspondent in the area reported, adding that the shooters' motives for firing at the businesses remain unknown.
Here's what we know:
• The targeted businesses all belong to a person from the village of Fneideq, and the damage is only material, our correspondent added. An investigation into the incident has been opened.
• Last October, the locality of Wadi Jammous was the scene of clashes between rival families that had left six people dead.
• Exchanges of gunfire following personal disputes are commonplace in several regions of Lebanon, including Akkar and the Bekaa.
