BEIRUT — The Lebanese Army received around 80 tons of aid including food and cleaning products from Turkey on Thursday, the army announced on Twitter.
Here’s what we know:
• The aid was delivered at a ceremony attended by the Turkish ambassador and military attache, as well as a senior Lebanese official representing the commander-in-chief of the army.
• Many countries have made donations to the Lebanese Army as its budget shrinks and the living conditions of its soldiers deteriorate amid the unprecedented economic crisis the country is facing.
