BEIRUT — The “We Vote for Change” list was officially registered at the Interior Ministry for the South I district on Tuesday, the state-run National News Agency reported. This is the second electoral list to register for the May 15 parliamentary elections in Lebanon.
Here’s what we know:
• The list includes: sitting MP Oussama Saad (Popular Nasserite Organization/Saida) and the head of the national committee on COVID-19 vaccines Abdul Rahman Bizri running for the two Sunni seats in Saida; Charbel Massad and Camille Serhal representing the Maronites in Jezzine; and retired Brig. Gen. Jamil Dagher running for the Catholic seat in Jezzine.
• The group has adopted the brown color for its representation.
• Shamaluna, an alliance of independent groups in North Lebanon, registered its list of parliamentary candidates at the Interior Ministry on Monday, becoming the first electoral list of independents to register in Lebanon.
• The deadline to register lists at the Interior Ministry is April 4.
