BEIRUT— The Health Ministry announced on Monday that the Moderna vaccine will be administered to people over 19 years of age as of March 1.
Here’s what we know:
• After one year since the vaccination campaign in Lebanon, the vaccination rate remains low. Around 49 percent of eligible people have received their first dose while 42 percent are vaccinated with the second dose. The campaign that started last October pushed for 23 percent of the eligible population to receive a booster third dose.
• The Health Ministry announced that as of March 1, Pfizer vaccines will be administered to people aged 12 to 18, while the Moderna vaccine will be given to people over the age of 19.
