BEIRUT — The Lebanese Army announced Tuesday that it arrested three people in the Akkar region of North Lebanon on suspicion of having discharged assault weapons.
Here’s what we know:
• In a statement, the military reported that the three suspects were arrested during searches carried out by the army's intelligence services in the Bahsa and Aamara regions of Akkar.
• The army also reported that it seized weapons found in the suspects' possession and published a photo showing Kalashnikov assault rifles, a handgun, as well as a grenade.
