BEIRUT — The Israeli army claimed Tuesday evening that it had shot down a drone belonging to Hezbollah on the border with Lebanon.
Here’s what we know:
• The Israeli military “shot down a Hezbollah-owned drone on the border with Lebanon," the Arabic-speaking Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on Twitter.
• “Our forces today shot down a drone belonging to the terrorist organization Hezbollah which had crossed the border from Lebanese territory and which our aerial surveillance units followed throughout its flight,” Adaree said. “Our army will keep preventing any violations of the state of Israel’s sovereignty,” he added.
• Israel and Hezbollah have shot down drones belonging to each other multiple times in the past. Israeli forces violate Lebanese air, land and sea space on an almost daily basis.
