Israeli strike on Hezbollah's headquarters in Beirut’s southern suburbs: In photos

Violent airstrikes targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Friday night, reportedly aiming to assassinate Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, who, according to a source close to the party, remains unharmed. Six buildings were completely leveled in this attack, the most intense Israeli strike since the 2006 war in Lebanon, according to a source close to Hezbollah. A video obtained by AFP shows a massive explosion and thick plumes of smoke rising above the buildings in the southern suburbs. An AFP photographer reported scenes of panic, with residents fleeing the area in haste.
