Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis said Monday that they have targeted a number of "sensitive" crude oil supplies and transport sites linking eastern Saudi Arabia to the Red Sea city of Yanbu.
The group’s military spokesperson Yahya Saree said on X the action was in response to what he described as Saudi drone incursions into Yemeni airspace.
Last week, the Houthis declared a naval blockade against Saudi Arabia, targeting the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, attacking Saudi oil tankers and shattering a four-year local truce.
Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry has condemned, in a statement, attacks on the kingdom saying it reserves the right to respond to the source of “the aggression” and deter those responsible.
