SOUTH LEBANON — The Israeli army continues to advance on the ground on four different axes, according to sources familiar with the situation on the ground who spoke to our correspondent:
- On the Debbine axis, in the eastern sector: until dawn, the locality was subjected to intense artillery bombardment and fire from Merkava tanks, which led to the closure of the Marjayoun-Debbine road. An Israeli advance was reported toward the Debbine-Khiam-Ebl al-Saqi triangle, as well as troop movements southeast of Debbine. The intensity of the attacks, which resumed during the day, seems to confirm that the locality has not yet been taken by the Israeli army. Direct clashes with Hezbollah took place last night.
- On the Zawtar Sharqieh axis, south of Nabatieh: the pace of the Israeli army's advance has slowed in the eastern and southeastern parts of the locality, and Hezbollah continues its attacks on attempted advances.
- On the Yohmor al-Shaqif axis in the Litani bend, east of Nabatieh: Israeli forces deployed on the outskirts of the locality (which is included in the 'buffer zone' established by the Israeli state) came under rocket attacks, prompting airstrikes on nearby positions in Arnoun, Kfar Tibnit, Yohmor al-Shaqif, and the heights of Ali Taher.
- On the Haddatha axis, in the central sector: the Israeli army tried to expand its control inside the locality, alongside artillery shelling targeting surrounding villages. Hezbollah attacks, reportedly pushed the Israelis to retreat.
