Ballistic missiles fired from Bahrain toward Iran, first confirmed Gulf launch
A video verified by The New York Times shows ballistic missiles fired from Bahrain toward Iran, marking the first confirmed attack from a Gulf country since the war began.
It remains unclear whether the missiles were launched by Bahraini or U.S. forces. Military experts who reviewed the footage say at least one missile was fired from a U.S.-made M142 HIMARS launcher.
Bahrain hosts the U.S. Fifth Fleet. The Bahraini government told NYT that its military “has not participated in any offensive operations,” without confirming whether it allowed the U.S. to conduct strikes from its territory. The Pentagon declined to comment on the launches.
The footage, posted online March 7, shows two missiles fired near a residential area and an airport, leaving smoke trails heading northeast toward Iran.
Analysts said the visible launchers match the U.S. HIMARS system. While the U.S. approved the sale of HIMARS to Bahrain, deliveries typically take years, suggesting the launchers were likely operated by American forces.

Qassem calls on government to stop giving 'free concessions'
Naim Qassem called on the government to stop granting concessions that encourage Israel’s aggression, saying, “Don’t give the enemy ideas; no one negotiates by revealing their cards. Let the government raise its tone to foil Israel’s plan.”
He also appealed for national unity, adding, “We hope the Lebanese remain solidary to defeat the enemy. After that, you can discuss whatever you want, but for now, the resistance continues.”
Qassem: 'We will go to the end, Israel must stop its aggression'
Naim Qassem said, “We are not the cause of this new war; we are only reacting to Israeli-American aggression in the Middle East. Resistance is a normal response.”
He added, “We are left with only two choices: surrender or resist. Surrender would mean the realization of the Greater Israel dream, which we cannot accept. We will go to the end. We will not allow the enemy to achieve its goal of neutralizing us and occupying Lebanon. The solution? Israel must stop its aggression, withdraw from Lebanon, and release the detainees.”
Qassem also addressed the Israeli operation in Nabi Sheet (Bekaa) saying, “It was an Israeli operation that failed thanks to the presence of the resistance. Without them, the Israelis would have killed all the residents.”

Katz had earlier warned that Lebanon would pay increasingly for failing to disarm Hezbollah, citing potential territorial losses and infrastructure damage.
Qassem added, “We are preparing for a long confrontation, and we will prevail. The fighters of the Islamic resistance are highly motivated, fearless of death, and ready for combat."
Hezbollah says it is fighting against Israeli-US aggression
Qassem described the group’s actions in Lebanon as “a defensive fight against Israeli-American aggression,” calling it an “existential threat in every sense of the word.”
He noted that the aggression had continued for 15 months, losing intensity at times but never reaching stability.
During that period, Israel continued attacks on Lebanon while Hezbollah refrained from responding. Qassem said, “We often said this aggression had to be stopped and that our patience had limits. We considered responding three times, but we believed it was not the right moment and that diplomacy should have its place.”
Qassem: '15 months of aggression didn’t provoke you?'
Qassem added that the recent escalation followed Israel’s attacks on Iran and the assassination of their leader, prompting Hezbollah to retaliate.
“The first volley of our rockets exposed Israel’s plan, which was already in place,” he said.
He challenged critics, asking, “They say we provoked the enemy with this strike, but 15 months of aggression didn’t provoke you?” He emphasized that the operation is defensive, saying, “This is resistance against the enemy for Lebanon, and not for anyone else.”
Hezbollah vows continued support for Palestinian cause
