Jordan says it shot down two ballistic missiles targeting the kingdom

The Jordanian Air Force announced on Saturday that it is conducting exercises to “protect the kingdom’s skies,” following Israeli and U.S. strikes against Iran.

“The sounds heard in the skies over several regions of the kingdom are from Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft carrying out routine flights as part of their operational missions,” a military source said, after sirens were heard in Amman. “These sorties are part of aerial reconnaissance and inspection operations aimed at preserving the security of Jordanian airspace and ensuring it is free from any attempts at infiltration or illegal activity,” the source added.

The Jordanian armed forces "shot down two ballistic missiles targeting the kingdom's territory on Saturday," a military official said. "They were successfully intercepted by Jordan's air defense systems," the official said.
