Mount Lebanon’s first investigative judge, Nada al-Asmar, issued an arrest warrant on Monday for R.J., a Middle East Airlines (MEA) sales employee suspected of embezzling over $1.7 million from ticket sales and excess baggage charges at the Rafik Hariri International Airport departures hall.Arrest warrants were also issued for M.J., MEA’s director of finance, and R.J.’s father, and another employee at the national carrier, C.H., responsible for account verification, while awaiting the conclusion of the investigation and the indictment that Asmar is expected to issue soon.
