The Palestinian Authority will "under no circumstances" take part in governing the Gaza Strip after the war, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff during his visit to Jerusalem on Tuesday.
"The prime minister made it clear that the Palestinian Authority would not be involved under any circumstances," Netanyahu's office said in a statement following their meeting.
In addition, the Israeli prime minister told the American envoy that Iran "cannot be trusted" ahead of discussions set to take place this week between Washington and Tehran.
"Ahead of envoy Witkoff's meeting with an Iranian representative, the prime minister clearly expressed his position that Iran has repeatedly proven that its promises cannot be trusted," Netanyahu was quoted as saying by his office after their talks.
