In Michigan, MP Inaya Ezzeddine meets Dearborn officials of Lebanese descent

MP Inaya Ezzeddine (Amal Movement) met with the mayors of Dearborn Heights and Dearborn, Mohammad Baydoun and Abdullah Hammoud, both of Lebanese descent and recently elected in these American cities in the state of Michigan, where Ezzeddine is currently visiting.

During this meeting, which was attended by Lebanon’s consul general in Detroit, Ibrahim Sharara, the parliamentarian expressed "the pride of the Lebanese people in the successes of its expatriate community, emphasizing that it is in Lebanon's interest to showcase role models of success in administrative, scientific, social and economic fields in host countries."

She also highlighted "the important role played by expatriates, especially those in influential positions," while praising "the deep attachment of Mr. Baydoun and Mr. Hammoud to Lebanon."

Nicknamed the “capital of Arab America,” the city of Dearborn is home to a significant Lebanese diaspora, most of whom originate from the Bint Jbeil region in southern Lebanon.
