Some 2,000 people, including Hezbollah supporters, gathered Wednesday in the late afternoon in front of the Iranian embassy in Beirut to celebrate what they consider to be a victory of Iran against Israel, and a similar gathering took place in Nabatieh, in southern Lebanon, where participants waved the Hezbollah flag and portraits of Iranian leader Ali Khamenei.
Present at the Beirut rally organized at Hezbollah's call, the head of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, estimated that "it is the tyrants who triggered the aggression against the Islamic Republic, which drew its strength only from God, who supported it," reports our local journalist.
"The Islamic Republic refuses submission," he added. "The Israeli entity hoped to impose its tutelage on the map of the Middle East using the means at its disposal. The first factor of this victory is the presence of an inspired, pious, and courageous leader, and the second is a powerful and valiant army."
The parliamentarian estimated that today "Iran is a regional deterrent force, whether it is liked or not" and that "the Iranian victory means that Israel cannot be a deterrent force in the region, under any circumstances."

The gathering in Nabatieh brought together hundreds of residents from the city and neighboring localities, as well as many political, religious, union, educational and cultural figures, according to our correspondent in southern Lebanon.
Ali Fayad, a member of the Loyalty to the Resistance parliamentary bloc, spoke at the gathering to praise "a clear victory of the Islamic Republic over the Israeli enemy."
According to him, "the illusions of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu to redraw the Middle East without resistance have collapsed, just as the lie aiming to erase those who affirm that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and that Israel is an illegitimate, occupying and usurping entity."
Fayad also praised Iran for "its constancy, its support for resistance, its contribution to the liberation of land and its commitment alongside the Palestinian people, abandoned by many."
"Lebanon is not a country of normalization or false peace agreements with the Israeli enemy," he also said. "It is the country of martyrs, resistance, and Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah," who was assassinated in an Israeli strike.
On Tuesday, another gathering took place in front of the United Nations building in downtown Beirut.
A 12-day war broke out on June 13 following Israeli attacks on Iranian territory, aiming, according to Israel, to destroy the country's nuclear program. Reciprocal bombings have continued since, causing significant destruction on both sides.
On June 21, an unprecedented U.S. bombing on Iranian nuclear sites marked a turning point in the war.
To the great surprise of observers, and despite an Iranian response on June 22 against a U.S. military base in Qatar, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a cease-fire that took effect on June 23.
Iran's supporters generally believe that the Islamic Republic stopped its enemy despite the violence of airstrikes on its soil, while Israelis believe they have pushed back Iranian nuclear ambitions.
