France has expressed concern following the U.S. strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, urging "the parties to exercise restraint to avoid any escalation that could lead to an extension of the conflict," according to a message from the French foreign minister posted on X on Sunday.

Clarifying that it "neither participated in these strikes nor in their planning," France states it is "convinced that a lasting resolution to this issue lies in a negotiated solution within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty."
