BEIRUT — Israeli forces issued leaflets on Tuesday aimed at fishermen in southern Lebanon, particularly in the ports of Sour and Naqoura, warning them of reprisals if they approached the Israeli maritime borders.

Several abductions of fishermen by the Israeli army have been reported in recent months in southern Lebanon. As recently as June 4, a fisherman, identified as Ali Fneich, was abducted by the Israeli army off the coast of Ras Naqoura, according to information from our correspondent. Another fisherman, Mohammad Jouhair, was also abducted at sea last February and has been detained in Israel since then.

Since the 2023-2024 war with Hezbollah, and despite the cease-fire agreement that took effect on Nov. 27, 2024, Israeli violations in Lebanese territory have been daily, and the Israeli Defense Forces still occupy five positions in southern Lebanon.

Around 10 p.m. on Monday, an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on the Ghassouna area, east of the village of Blida, in the Marjayoun district, according to our correspondent. At the same time, the Israelis targeted a car that had broken down and parked southwest of the village of Khiam, Marjayoun district, with a mortar shell. The driver managed to escape.

Violations extended to the skies of the Bekaa, as drones flew over several areas at low altitude on Tuesday morning, according to our correspondent in the region.

Beirut and the southern suburb were also flown over at low altitude by Israeli drones, present in the capital's skies for several consecutive days.

Later on Tuesday, a small Israeli drone dropped a stun grenade on the village of Naqoura in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli army also kidnapped a shepherd in southern Lebanon after infiltrating as far as the east of the village of Kfar Shouba (Hasbaya). According to a resident cited by L'Orient Today's correspondent, an Israeli force abducted Mohammad Qassem Ghanem, a 75-year-old shepherd from the village, while he was grazing his flock of goats. The shepherd was later released after being interrogated for several hours and returned home, the residents added.

Fall of missile parts

Several incidents involving the fall of parts of Israeli or Iranian missiles or drones were reported on Tuesday morning and the previous night in Lebanon.

Since the outbreak of the conflict between Israel and Iran last Friday, Iranian missiles and drones, as well as Israeli interception missiles and drones heading toward Iran, have regularly entered Lebanese airspace.

Around midnight on the night of Monday to Tuesday, a missile head fell near a bridge over the Arqa River, near the village of Arqa in Akkar (extreme north of Lebanon), without causing material damage or injuries, reports our correspondent. The army dispatched experts to the scene.

Also on Tuesday morning, the sounds of interception missiles (Israeli) were heard in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, according to our correspondent.

Finally, our correspondent in the Bekaa indicates that solar panels were damaged by debris from interception missiles in the village of Ferzol (Zahle district).
