The United States issued a two-month deadline to conclude a new nuclear deal, Axios reported. This ultimatum was part of a letter sent by U.S. President Donald Trump to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and transmitted on March 12 through the UAE’s president’s diplomatic advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.Araghchi said a week later, on Thursday, that Iran would respond “in the next few days,” although it was not specified whether the two-month deadline began when the letter was received or when negotiations would begin. Yet, the U.S. allegedly made it clear that if Teheran’s nuclear program continued to progress, or if Iran rejected its offer of talks, the risks of a U.S. or Israeli military operation against its nuclear facilities would increase significantly.
