Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned Syria’s government on Saturday against targeting the Druze community, following clashes between Druze armed groups and Syrian security forces that left one killed and nine injured."We will not allow the radical Islamist terrorist regime in Syria to harm the Druze," Gallant said, threatening military intervention if Damascus targeted the minority in southern Syria. "If the regime targets them, it will face consequences. We have instructed the army to prepare and to send a firm and clear warning: if the regime harms the Druze community, we will strike."The clashes erupted in Jaramana, a predominantly Druze and Christian suburb southeast of Damascus.
