Seven injured in Akkar after grenade thrown

BEIRUT — Seven people were injured after an unidentified person threw a grenade at them in front of the Tleil municipality in Akkar on Tuesday morning, according to L'Orient Today's correspondent.

Residents transported the injured, who are from the Jalloul and Saad families, to hospitals in the region for treatment.

Investigations are underway by the security forces under the supervision of the competent judiciary to find out the assailant's motives. Preliminary data indicates that the perpetrator was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Security forces are currently searching for the suspect, who has gone into hiding, to arrest him.
