BEIRUT — Almost all access points to border crossings and authorized crossing points between northern Lebanon and Syria have been destroyed by a series of airstrikes carried out by the Israeli army on Tuesday evening.

Some border posts, such as Masnaa, considered the main crossing point along all of the Lebanese-Syrian border, had already been destroyed with airstrikes. But the Tuesday evening strikes targeted routes on both sides of the border, essentially shutting down all passage between the north of the country and Syria, while southern Lebanon remains under relentless Israeli bombardment.

The northern Lebanese border crossings of Abboudieh-Daboussieh and Aarida, as well as the two bridges crossing the Nahr al-Kabir, were bombed, as was a General Security center.

The strikes killed at least two people, including a child, at the Aarida post, while a car passing through Abboudieh crossing was damaged, though its passengers miraculously escaped unharmed. Houses located near the bombed border posts were also damaged as were agricultural fields in the area of the town of Bahsa.
