BEIRUT – People chatting, cocktails flowing, bursting laughter, and glasses clinking. Sitting in her chair at a restaurant in Dbayeh, Georgina* looked around her, and things felt almost normal, as if nothing was happening just a few kilometers away. “The place was full, and it was only a Tuesday night,” she recalled.It had been almost a month since she stopped going out, the war had made her very anxious and the mood simply “didn’t allow it.” But her friend was turning 31 at the end of October and she wanted to celebrate with him.“I was surprised when I found out we needed to make reservations … for a Tuesday night.”Georgina and her friends always went out in Beirut, but since Israel bombardments intensified on Sep.23, she says she feels more comfortable hanging out in Naccache, Dbayeh and Antelias (around 15 kilometers from Beirut)....
