Qatar confirmed on Saturday that it had suspended its mediation for a cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip until Palestinian Hamas and Israel demonstrate "will and seriousness" in negotiations.

Israeli soldiers filmed themselves burning a Lebanese flag in a video that is making the rounds on social media.

According to Palestinian journalist Younes Tirawi, who first posted the video on X, the soldiers were from the Golani Brigade, deployed in south Lebanon.

An update on the situation in southern Lebanon on Friday night

- At 11 p.m., the Israeli army booby-trapped and blew up a building under construction in Mais al-Jabal that was supposed to become the village seraglio, the president of the Mais al-Jabal municipality told our southern Lebanon correspondent Mountasser Abdallah.

The Civil Defense of the Amal movement, the al-Rissala scouts, said the death toll from Friday's raids on Sour now stands at nine killed, including a child and a pregnant woman, and 38 wounded. Search and rescue operations were suspended until this morning, due to the presence of Israeli drones flying low over the area.

- At midnight, a raid targeted an area between Nabatieh Fawqa and Nabatieh Tahta. Two air strikes targeted Shihine.

On Friday, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued a statement accusing Israel of having “destroyed and removed two of the blue barrels [physically] marking the U.N. withdrawal line between Lebanon and Israel.”

This refers to the Blue Line behind which the Israeli army withdrew after the liberation of southern Lebanon in May 2000, and which serves as the border between the two countries.
