After all, she is the “lioness” of Israel, a nation that has just been attacked. Eleven Israeli athletes were sleeping in their apartments in the Olympic Village in Munich when a commando from “Black September,” a shadowy Palestinian group, stormed in. Two athletes were killed on the spot and the remaining nine were taken hostage to be exchanged for Palestinian prisoners. The German intervention was a failure and all the athletes died.
