The group yesterday announced it is suspending its military operations against US troops in the region, to prevent “embarrassment” to the Iraqi government – according to a statement.

The White House national security spokesperson, John Kirby told reporters on Air Force One that the response would come in phases. “It is very possible that what you’ll see is a tiered approach here, not just a single action, but essentially multiple actions.”
