BEIRUT — The Internal Security Forces announced on Thursday that they had seized 5kg of hashish hidden in a wooden board and placed in a package destined for a European country.

The ISF did not specify to which European country the drugs were destined.
In a statement, the ISF said it seized the package at a post office and arrested a Syrian man in his 20s who allegedly sent it. An investigation is still underway to arrest all those involved in the case.
The Lebanese authorities have increased their efforts in recent months to fight against drug trafficking, while Lebanon is regularly criticized by Arab countries and the Gulf monarchies for its lack of cooperation at this level.
