In photos: Damage in Aisha Bakkar, in the heart of Beirut, after an Israeli strike

At dawn on March 11, central Beirut was once again hit by an Israeli strike, this time in the Aisha Bakkar neighborhood, three days after an operation which targeted a room at the Ramada Hotel in Raouche where Iranians were reportedly staying.

At around 5 a.m., four missiles struck a 15-story residential building, destroying the seventh floor and killing four people. The sixth, eighth and ninth floors were also heavily damaged. According to sources, the strike may have targeted either a member of Hamas or members of the al-Jamaa al-Islamiya. Residents at the scene were in shock and expressed anger following the attack, according to our reporter Lyana Alameddine, who was on site with photographer Mohammad Yassine.

These are the first images we received from the scene a few hours after the strike.
