The human toll: Honoring civilians killed by Israeli strikes during Lebanon war
Early in September, the Israeli war cabinet announced that one of their goals would be the return of their 60,000 displaced citizens to the north of Israel. This led to a major, bloody escalation of the war with Hezbollah. Civilians have overwhelmingly paid the consequences in this latest phase of the war.
As of now, we are unable to track the name and face of every single civilian in Lebanon who has been killed since Oct. 8, when Hezbollah opened a 'support front' against Israel to support its ally, Hamas. Many are still unaccounted for, and rescue efforts have been hampered by Israel's continuous targeting of civil defense and paramedic workers.
Here are some of the faces and lives that were lost, which have been shared through social networks and various WhatsApp channels.
