NORTH LEBANON — Georges Brax, president of the gas station owners’ syndicate, condemned an armed robbery at a TotalEnergies station in Bhanin, north of Minyeh in North Lebanon, overnight Wednesday to Thursday.
In a statement, Brax warned that such attacks could “recur,” threatening “public safety in areas that heavily depend on these essential services.” He said the incident was the first of its kind in some time.
According to our correspondent, an unidentified armed man entered the station overnight, threatened and assaulted employees, and fled with a large portion of the station’s proceeds.
Security forces arrived at the scene and opened an investigation. They are reviewing surveillance footage from cameras at the station, nearby roads and surrounding areas in an effort to identify and apprehend the suspect.
