“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not yet taken or announced its final decision regarding the draft protocol proposed during negotiations,” Fars wrote, citing a “well-informed source close to the Iranian negotiating team.”
The possibility of such an agreement faces opposition from some hardliners, who are hostile to concessions, particularly regarding control of the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which has been de facto blocked by Iran since the start of the war.

The Israeli army announced Sunday that Israeli territory had been targeted by drones launched from Lebanon, which caused no casualties.
“Following alerts triggered a short while ago regarding the infiltration of a hostile aircraft,” the army said, “two impacts … were identified on the territory of the State of Israel.”
Two far-right Israeli cabinet ministers then called for retaliatory strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut (Dahieh).
“The fire on northern towns tests the doctrine of Dahieh declared by the Prime Minister. I call on him to apply it with determination and firmness and to destroy buildings in Dahieh,” Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich wrote on X.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir wrote: “For every drone, a missile; for every violation, fire; for every drone, Dahieh must tremble.”
