BEIRUT — Ahmad Rami al-Hajj, the public prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, was sworn in on Thursday before the head of state, Joseph Aoun, in the presence of Justice Minister Adel Nassar and the president of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Souheil Abboud, according to the state-run National News Agency (NNA).

On the occasion, President Aoun expressed his support for the judiciary, emphasizing that "there is no state without fair justice, nor stability without fairness." "Justice is the fundamental pillar in the building of the state and the preservation of its authority," he added.
