Trump says US would need 2 weeks to hit all Iran targets
U.S. President Donald Trump has said in an interview aired Sunday that it would only take two weeks to hit "every single target" in Iran, adding that the Islamic republic was "militarily defeated."
In the interview with independent journalist Sharyl Attkisson, which was recorded last week, he also called NATO a "paper tiger" and accused Washington's allies of failing to assist in the campaign against Tehran.
The comments come as Iran is reported to have responded to the latest U.S. proposal on ending a conflict that began on Feb. 28 with U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.
"They're militarily defeated. In their own minds, maybe they don't know that. But I think they do," Trump said in the interview, before adding: "That doesn't mean they're done."
He suggested the U.S. military could "go in for two more weeks and do every single target. We have certain targets that we wanted, and we've done probably 70 percent of them, but we have other targets that we could conceivably hit."
"But even if we didn't do that, you know, that would just be final touches," Trump said.
On NATO, he said the alliance "has proven to be a paper tiger. They weren’t there to help."

Saar defends war with Iran, says acting now was 'less dangerous' than waiting
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar defended the Israeli-American war against Iran in an interview with a pro-Trump U.S. channel, arguing the decision to act was necessary despite its unpopularity in the United States.
According to him, Donald Trump acted decisively, in coordination with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to “address the nuclear threat” in the region. “We understood they were about to move their nuclear program to a very deep underground facility, where it would become immune,” Saar said. “That moment would have given them de facto immunity from airstrikes. So it was the moment when a decision had to be made to act.”
“When you realize diplomacy is not working, you have to decide whether to act,” he added.
He also accused the Islamic Republic of Iran of trying to “eliminate” Israel by surrounding it with proxy groups such as Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis, and of targeting U.S. allies in the region, including Qatar.
The interview was shared on Donald Trump’s Truth Social account.
