The national airline Middle East Airlines (MEA) announced on Saturday the cancellation of all its flights to and from Iraq for the day, due to the continued closure of Iraqi airspace.
Affected are the flights between Beirut and the airports of Baghdad and Erbil: ME321 (Baghdad–Beirut), ME322 (Beirut–Baghdad), ME323 (Baghdad–Beirut), ME324 (Beirut–Erbil) and ME325 (Erbil–Beirut).
Several countries in the region have temporarily closed their airspace in the wake of the unprecedented conflict that erupted between Iran and Israel, following an initial attack launched by the Israeli military during the night from Thursday to Friday.
