UN denounces Israel's 'deliberate' choice to deprive Gazans of 'the means of their survival'
The U.N.'s humanitarian chief said the deaths of dozens of people killed Tuesday in the Gaza Strip as they tried to access a food distribution center were the "result of deliberate choices" by Israel, AFP reported.
"Just yesterday (Tuesday), dozens of deaths were reported in hospitals after Israeli forces announced they had opened fire. This is the result of a series of deliberate choices that systematically deprived two million people of the essentials for their survival," wrote U.N. official Tom Fletcher in a statement. "The world is witnessing, day after day, horrific scenes of Palestinians being shot and killed in Gaza simply trying to feed themselves."
He echoed the call from U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for independent investigations into these bloody incidents to hold those responsible accountable.
"No one should have to risk their life to feed their children," stated Fletcher.

Khamenei says U.S. nuclear proposal 'against Iran's national interests'
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated this morning that the American proposal for a nuclear agreement with Tehran goes “against the national interests” of Iran. “The [Iranian nuclear] proposal put forward by the Americans is 100% against the slogan ‘We Can’,” Khamenei said, referencing one of the key principles of the 1979 Islamic Revolution emphasizing Iran’s independence. He affirmed that Iran would not abandon uranium enrichment.
On Monday, an Iranian source told Reuters that Tehran was preparing to reject the American offer, calling it “unacceptable” because it “does not reflect Tehran’s interests” and fails to ease Washington’s stance on uranium enrichment. “Iran is drafting a negative response to the U.S. proposal, which could be interpreted as a rejection,” the high-ranking diplomat, close to the Iranian negotiating team, told Reuters.
Five rounds of talks have already taken place between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi and U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, appointed under President Donald Trump.
