Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi told Hebollah's al-Manar TV on Saturday that the US did not strike any Quds Force or Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) sites in Friday's US strikes that struck targets in Syria and Iraq.

The US army earlier announced that it carried out airstrikes in Iraq and Syria on Friday against more than 85 targets linked to Iran's Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) and the militias it backs in retaliation to a deadly attack in Jordan that killed three US troops and injured around 40 others.

Following the strikes, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Saturday that its militants targeted the al-Harir air base hosting US forces in northern Iraq, according to Reuters. Three security sources, however, denied any strike on the air base.

Washington previously said that the attack in Jordan has the “footprint” of Kataib Hezbollah, the leading member of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Forces.

One day after the Jordan attack, Iranian state media denied Tehran's involvement in the attack that killed three US troops. A day later, pro-Iranian Iraqi armed group Kataib Hezbollah announced the suspension of all its military operations against US troops in the region, in a decision aimed at preventing "embarrassment" to the Iraqi government.
