Second Christmas tree burned down in Tripoli area

For the second time in a week, a Christmas tree has been burned down in North Lebanon.

The Christmas tree in the courtyard of the Saint George Church in Mina, Tripoli, was set alight at dawn Saturday, the state-run National News Agency reported.

Security forces were deployed to the scene and have launched an investigation into the matter. Those responsible have not yet been identified.

According to the NNA, at dawn on Christmas Eve, a group of people burned down a Christmas tree in Tripoli and tried to set fire to a second one. The NNA adds that those involved have since been arrested.
