Polling stations opened Sunday for Egyptians to cast their ballots in a presidential election the incumbent, Abdel Fattah al-Sissi, is widely expected to win.

The vote in the country of nearly 106 million people will run until Tuesday, with results expected to be announced on Dec. 18. Former army chief Sissi has been president since 2014, a year after deposing Islamist president Mohamed Morsi.
