BEIRUT — Following an alleged dispute, a man in the al-Ruwaisat area of Jdeideh, Metn, on Wednesday shot his employer before himself dying by suicide, L'Orient Today's correspondent reported. It is unclear if the man's employer survived the shooting.
An alleged video of the assailant's suicide, reportedly taken by a person in the area at the time, is being circulated on social media networks.
A Lebanese Army unit was deployed to the scene of the incident and imposed a security cordon.
L'Orient Today has contacted the Jdeideh municipality for further information, but, at the time of publication, had received no response.
On Tuesday, Lebanon's Internal Security Forces announced that the reported crime rate in Lebanon has fallen by 38 percent in the first seven months of 2023 compared to the same period last year.
