BEIRUT — The services of the state-run telecommunications company Ogero were halted Wednesday in Bir Hassan, Beirut, due to "pressure on the generators."

Power generators serve as a backup to generate the electricity needed to operate telecom stations during state-provided power rationing hours.

In a statement, Ogero said the outage happened after its stations experienced damage due to "pressure on the generators."

"Our teams are working to fix the damage with all possible speed," the statement added.

Ogero's network has regularly experienced such breakdowns since the onset of the economic crisis, notably due to a lack of electricity supply or equipment theft.
