BEIRUT — Sour's central Ogero transmission station stopped working Tuesday morning, causing both an internet and landline outage in the area, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The municipality of Sour along with local MP Inaya Ezzeddine are working to find a solution to the problem by communicating with the communications minister and the general manager of the state-run telecommunications provider Ogero, according to NNA.

Work is underway to secure an alternative generator after malfunctions occurred in the main generator, the NNA said, adding that this outage coincides with the strike announced by Ogero employees for Tuesday and Thursday,

Since late last week, many telecoms transmission stations stopped working in Lebanon due to lack of fuel to operate the electrical generators. Ogero is expecting a payment to purchase fuel stocks but, until now, the funds have not been disbursed yet by the authorities.
