France beat Poland to reach World Cup quarterfinals

France reached the quarterfinals of the World Cup on Sunday with a 3-1 win over Poland to set up a last-eight clash with either England or Senegal.

Olivier Giroud's record-breaking 52nd goal for his country just before half-time and a second-half brace from Kylian Mbappe continued France's World Cup defense.

Robert Lewandowski scored a stoppage-time consolation goal for Poland from the penalty spot at the second attempt.
