BEIRUT — A domestic gas tank exploded at a station in the al-Qubba neighborhood of Tripoli, North Lebanon, on Saturday, causing a number of injuries, according to L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the region.
The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined. Two people are in critical condition.
Security forces, civil defense, and Lebanese Red Cross vehicles arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire. Ambulances also arrived at the scene and are working to transfer the injured to nearby hospitals.
In September, a fire erupted in fuel tanks in Dalhoun, a town in the Chouf, causing a large explosion and injuring one person.
On Aug. 15, 2021, a gasoline tank also exploded in Tleil village in Akkar, northern Lebanon, killing more than 30 people and injuring about 100.
