BEIRUT — A Syrian woman was arrested in Zahle, in the Bekaa region, on Thursday for her alleged involvement in illegal abortions and birth deliveries, the state-run National News Agency reported.
According to the NNA, a State Security patrol in Zahle raided a Syrian refugee tent where M.A. was performing birth deliveries for Lebanese and Syrian women, as well as abortions with rudimentary tools, for a small fee.
The Syrian woman allegedly performed these operations without a university degree or medical license.
