BEIRUT — Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah praised on Monday, at an event in Beirut’s southern suburbs commemorating the 40 year anniversary of the establishment of the party, the “heroic efforts” of Lebanese MMA fighter Charbel Abou Daher and chess player Nadia Qassem Fawaz who refused to play against Israeli players in the youth world MMA championship, and in a chess championship that took place in Abu Dhabi this week.

Here’s what we know:

    • Nasrallah insisted that Hezbollah has been “installing the resistance ideology among generations for 40 years.”

    • In regard to the ongoing maritime border dispute with Israel, which has generated growing tensions between the two sides, he noted that there are no updates “yet” and that Hezbollah regards “Israel's threats to be worthless.”
