BEIRUT — A legal case concerning the head of the municipality of Tripoli Riad Yamak was transferred on Wednesday to the Financial Public Court by Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi after a complaint filed by members of the Tripoli municipality resulted in an investigation against Yamak, the state-run National News Agency reported.
Here’s what we know:
• According to the NNA, the members of the Tripoli municipality filed a complaint against Yamak for reasons related to wasting public funds.
• Mawlawi also transferred Yamak’s file to the Audit Bureau following another investigation related to spending money without legal basis.
• L’Orient Today contacted a spokesperson for the Interior Ministry, who could not give more details about the matter.
