High winds force Tripoli port to cease activities

BEIRUT — The Tripoli Port Administration announced Friday that it will halt work in the sea navigation section and the docks and that it will also stop circulation of goods for the day, our correspondent in the area reports.

Here’s what we know:

•  Due to the strengthening wind speed, which were expected to reach 80 to 90 km per hour between 9 and 11a.m., some operations were stopped at Tripoli port.

•  People are also asked not to roam around the port throughout this period.
