General Security offices in Sur, Saida shut for 10 days due to COVID-19 outbreak among staff

BEIRUT — The Directorate of General Security in Lebanon announced Wednesday that its branches in Saida and Sur in South Lebanon will be closed for 10 days from today due to the detection of several cases of COVID-19 among its agents.

Lebanon continues to register a high number of new coronavirus infections daily as the highly contagious Omicron variant spreads.  On Tuesday, 7,250 new cases of the virus were recorded.
