BEIRUT— Three sons of the former Arsal municipal head Ali Hojeiri were detained by the Lebanese army for firing into the air during a party in the northeastern border town celebrating the release of their father, L’Orient Today’s correspondent in the Bekaa reported.

Here’s what we know:

    • An army intelligence unit raided Hojeiri’s house and arrested Koussai, Oudai and Mohammad Hojeiri, confiscating several weapons, a security source told our correspondent.

    • Hojeiri was released on Wednesday, following his incarceration for “inciting armed elements to take revenge on the army.” The former Arsal municipal chief held the post in 2014, when ISIS and Al-Nusra Front militants crossed the border from Syria and stormed the town, kidnapping and killing a number of Lebanese security personnel.

    • Hojeiri was arrested in Sep. 2017 for his links to jihadists.
